Established in 1896, the Club sits on the scenic embankment of the North Saskatchewan River and overlooking the river valley and downtown skyline.

The Edmonton Country Club is Alberta’s oldest golf club and has maintained a reputation of excellence since inception. In 1989 an elegant clubhouse was constructed and stands as evidence to the Clubs dedication to provide the finest golf club experience in the City of Edmonton.

The course sits atop Edmonton’s river valley and offers a wonderful experience for players of all skill sets. There are nine tee options ranging from 5,300 to 7,000 yards. The course presents a park like setting with generous driving areas, small greens that require accurate approaches but offer the availability to “run” the ball up.

Stanley Thompson, who worked at the club in the 1940s, moved many tee and green sites in order to bring the natural ravines on the site into play. Thompson golf holes were created to look as if they had always been there and were meant to always be there. This natural artistry has been ascribed as the essence of Stanley Thompson design philosophy.
