Hillendale’s golf course is known as a "traditional gem" with its rolling hills and small, undulating, well-bunkered greens. Hillendale is rated as one of the most challenging golf courses in the greater Baltimore area. This William and David Gordon signature design masterpiece, built in 1954, pays respect to the timeless architecture of the game of golf.
Since the inception of our golf course, Hillendale is always making improvements to the course. In the 1970's George Fazio was hired and fairway bunkers were added. Additional improvements in 2009 included new bunkers, forward tee boxes for women and seniors to make the game more enjoyable, tee boxes to challenge the accomplished player, and irrigation system upgrades.
Hillendale has hosted many signature events such as:
1983 & 1984 Tournament Players Series (Greater Baltimore Open) for the PGA tour
5 Maryland State Opens (most recent, 2009)
1995, 1984 & 1976, and 2011 Maryland State Amateur Championship
2001 and 2005 Middle Atlantic PGA Section Club Pro Championship
