Lake Barrington Shores Golf Club
Lake Barrington Shores Golf Club was established in 1978. The front nine of the golf club was open for play spring 1978. The architect for the course was E.L. "Larry" Packard. At that time he was grooming his son Roger for golf course design. Roger has designed many courses around the country and over seas. Some of his other courses locally include Cantigny Golf in Wheaton. He also designed the South Course and the General at Eagle Ridge in Galena, IL. Lake Barrington Shores
The course at Lake Barrington Shores plays to a length of near 6500 yards. The course is fair yet challenging playing on a total acreage of about 150. This would include all native areas and water hazards. Water comes into play on 10 of the 18 holes. It includes rolling topography being on the east side of the beautiful Fox River Valley. From the top of the #17 tee visibility commonly is over 10 miles. 2008 marked the addition of a new state of the art irrigation system that enhanced the overall beauty of the course.
