About Talbot Country Club
Talbot Country Club is the oldest golf club in the Delmarva Peninsula, having been founded in 1910. Golf play commenced the following year. Where Talbot ranks in the state of Maryland poses a more difficult consideration. Many of the oldest clubs, Chevy Chase Club (1892) and Green Spring Valley Hunt Club (1892), did not introduce golf until later. An article in The New York Times, written in 1896, focused on two of the oldest golf clubs. The Golf Club was formed in 1894 and was later named Baltimore Golf Club. The Elkridge Fox Hunting Club, whose golf property was called "The Kennels," was formed in 1895.
After celebrating its Centennial in 2010, the Club is looking forward to its next 100 years. Offering golf, social and junior memberships, Talbot Country Club has something for everyone. The 18-hole golf course, breathtaking water views, elegant clubhouse and exciting pool and tennis programs make it the place to be year-round.
