Tam-O-Shanter Country Club’s 18-hole Championship Course was built in 1925 by renowned architect, C.A. Allison. The 6,851 yard, par 72 layout winds it way across 184 acres of hilly terrain and through majestic stands of hardwoods.
Recently renovated to improve drainage and replace an aging irrigation system, a number of changes were made to the original design. Four ponds rerouted a number of fairways, creating more interesting and challenging holes. New tees were added on all 18 holes and three greens were restructured. The range and chipping area were completely redesigned, creating a premier practice area.
Tam-O-Shanter’s elevated bent grass greens have always created a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. Throughout the years, Tam-O-Shanter has played host to numerous tournaments, including U.S. Open Qualifiers, a Michigan Open Championship, and numerous local PGA and state events.
